Testimonial - 3rd Quarter - September 1, 2009 thru November 30, 2009

In September 2004 John came into care due to allegations that his adoptive brother was physically abusing him. His adoptive mother and father, as well as, his biological mother were all deceased. John is HIV positive and had a history of behavioral problems. Juliana was assigned as the CASA on John’s case in October of 2006. By this time John had been placed in a foster home under the care of an experienced foster mother. At the time there were two other boys living in the home. John initially struggled in school and in the home. However, through the collaboration of the CASA and the Foster Mother, he was able to learn how to control his behavior and focus on the future. The CASA worked hard to keep an open line of communication between the Foster Mother and the Case Manager when she noticed friction between the two. Needless to say, due to the CASA's determination to represent John’s best interest and find him a safe and permanent home. John was adopted by his Foster mother on May 5, 2009. He no longer has to worry about his stability or his future now that he has a place to call home-permanently.
